We have been building a foundational practice - with our breath, the snapshots, and the cultivation of our awareness. Now it is time to use these skills, to delve a little deeper…
For the next short while, whether it be just today, or a few days, try to keep in touch with your body and its emotions
You can continue the practice of taking small snapshots, if you like. Use the same technique you have been practicing:
1. First, breath2. Then center yourself in your body4. Notice what feelings you are holding space for. Gently name those feelings, letting go of any self criticism or judgements that arise.5. Investigate - be curious... ask yourself what each of these emotions are signaling - what are they telling you?6. Finally, let the emotion be, it will pass naturally
Remember to give yourself space first, if the emotion or feeling is an intense one - perhaps by breathing, or taking a walk and waiting till you feel spacious enough to hold the emotion to be examined...
ABOUT EMOTIONAL SIGNALS:
When I am tired, I may notice my eyes are less sharp, and they want to close more often. When I am aware of my thirst, my tongue seems heavy, my throat is dry, and my lips become chapped. When I am hungry my stomach rumbles. These are the signals of my body, telling me how to look after myself.
The emotional signals of your body are just the same.

Get cosy, find a favourite pen, and take a few minutes to sit with these questions:
How does it feel in my body when I am:- upset?- anxious?- joyful?- stressed?- tired?
What emotions came up for me today?
How can I follow these natural signals and reactions?
If I was fully listening to my body, how might my life be different?
What do I need right now?
.. . ..
This is not about transcending our humanity, but about bringing the divine INTO our humanity.
